Plastic Pipework

by Steve on May 4, 2009

Q

Where pipework in a bathroom is plastic, do I need bonding to the bath/radiator etc.?

A

Where the main pipework of a water distribution and central heating systems are PVC, short sections of copper pipe connecting taps, radiators and the like are not considered to be extraneous-conductive-parts because they are unlikely to introduce Earth potential to the location.

Supplementary bonding is therefore not required.
