£2500 grant for immediate hiring of young apprentices.

If you are an electrician considering taking on an apprentice or an apprentice with a company in mind, this new scheme may be of interest to you.

A new grant is offering employers an easy way to take on young apprentices.

Over the next ten weeks, the National Apprenticeship Service is providing Apprenticeship Grants of £2,500 for Employers who immediately take on an unemployed 16 or 17 year old apprentice. The objective is the creation of 5,000 new Apprenticeship places.

The grant (known as the AGE 16 and 17 grant) is only available until the end of March. The £2,500 grant is in addition to the costs of training which are already met by the National Apprenticeship Service.
