Trades Gain Respect

A survey by the ECA has found that 20% of parents want their children to train as electricians or plumbers.

It seems that many parents recognise that skilled tradespersons are highly qualified and respected members of society.

They can also provide a useful service and command a decent salary.

Around 30% of parents want their children to become doctors or lawyers but electricians rated higher than teachers, vets and pilots.

The jobs which polled the lowest scores were singers and hairdressers.

Maybe the general public are beginning to realise that a university degree isn’t the only key to a brighter future for their children.

Electricians and other skilled trades should be recognised for the hard work and dedication required to achieve their professional qualifications.

That is encouraging, it’s an honest skillful trade with potential to earn a good living. Being a good Electrician and helpful to your customers will help build your reputation as a skilled professional
