Meteor LED Floodlights

One of the best things about light fittings with integral LEDs is that you don’t have to replace the lamps. Here Meteor Electrical explain the benefits of LED floodlights.

When you go out today take a look around you chances are you will spot some form of floodlighting, whether that be in a public car park, in your own yard or in a football stadium. Floodlights are powerful lights that can light large areas with only a few lights. If you were to light a large outdoor area such as a football stadium with a standard outdoor light it would take thousands of bulbs to get a sufficient amount of light coverage. LED floodlights are commonly used as a security measure to deter intruders, for example people may use them to light up their yards so that intruders will stay away or in a public car park it would be used to allow you to see around you easily.

There are many advantages of LED floodlights, one major advantage is their long life span, an LED floodlight can often last for 50,000 hours which is great as they won’t have to be replaced as often therefore you will have a lower running cost and the saved money can be put towards other things.

LED floodlights are an economically friendly option as they use 70% less energy than halogen. The 30watt version shown above has a light output equivalvent to 200watt halogen. This means that you will save on energy bills and help the environment. The great thing about LED floodlights is that they can be altered to hit certain areas directly with light, for example if you need light to focus directly on an object this can be done whereas standard halogen floodlights this cannot be done as the light splits so that it covers an area evenly.

LED floodlights emit better light than standard halogen lights therefore you don’t need as many lights. This will again save you plenty of money as less light is needed and the bulbs wont need replaced as often.

When you choose an outdoor light you want it to be sturdy and durable so that it can withstand harsh conditions such as rain, snow, wind and hail. Luckily LED floodlights are made to withstand weather conditions, perfect as you won’t have to worry about them breaking or having to be repaired!

LED Floodlights are great, especially as they are so high where I have them installed I don’t want to be replacing them too often
